We were invited to go on a Pineapple Train ride out at the Dole Plantation with Ava's little cousins. The ride is about 15-20 minutes long and throughout the ride, we were given a history lesson about the plantation and the pineapples grown there. It is more of a touristy thing, but I had loads of fun!
The Tam Family and Grandma Yomogida (can you believe she is 95 yrs old?!)
Ava doesn't look too excited, but she really did enjoy the ride.
Trying to get Ava and Chris to smile at me.
Finally got one....
And of course we had to have the pineapple ice cream!
Grandma Yomogida decided that her coffee would be better with some pineapple ice cream mixed into it.
Oh and by the way, the pineapple ice cream was delicious!
Thanks for the invite Joy and Jeff!

so fun! I love that picture of Ava eating her ice cream :) THat stuff is so good!
Thanks Ann! We love to play tourist. It's amazing how they loooove that train. At least now I'm an expert on pineapples. Did you know that the pineapple contains a special enzyme... it is also a symbol of hospitality... in the old days people used to put a pineapple out on their porch... Oh yes, and to the left is the Tanada Resevoir which is used to irrigate all the fields... and here's another song from Manoa DNA!" :)
lol Joy! you guys have been on that train one too many times.
FUN!!! Chalei is sooooo into trains these days and would LOVE this! It looks like tons of fun! I guess I'll have to take a trip out there with her someday!
