"Sand CasTles"

We took Ava to one of her favorite places... The BEACH! Recently, she has been into building "sand casTles". Why is the "T" capitalized you ask? Well, Ava pronounces the word castle with the hard T sound instead of keeping the T silent.

First, she fills up her bucket with sand...

Then she picks the perfect casTle spot

Finally, the finished product... it's not really a castle, it's more like piles of sand hehe.
And of course, what would a beach day be without swimming!
Ava's loves and I mean LOVES the water! She always asks us to put on her floaties so she can swim away from us alone. She also asks us to help her find Nemo (The fish from the Disney movie, Finding Nemo) or tells us that Bruce the shark is coming.
We love our little Beach Bum!

Happy 28 to Daniel!

Sunday was Daniel's 28th Birthday! He insisted that he wanted a yellow cake with chocolate frosting. Thanks to my very beginner cake making skills, he got his wish... good thing he didn't ask for some fancy cake that I can't make. With inspiration from food network, I decided that I could take on the task of making, for the first time in my entire life, a layered cake with homemade frosting! Yes, layered and homemade frosting! Okay... it wasn't that fancy. It was box cake and it only had one layer of filling in the middle, but I have to admit for my first try it came out pretty good! (Keep in mind that I never ever bake! Maybe once a year if you're lucky!)

So Happy Birthday to an amazing Husband and Daddy! We love you!

Our Very First Blog! -Laundry Folding Fun!!!

So I signed up to blog maybe about a year ago, but I never got around to actually posting something... so today I decided to finally start. As I was folding a batch of clean laundry this afternoon, Ava decided to help me! Horay!!! (I've been waiting for this blessed day! haha) She grabbed a little towel and worked so hard on folding it. To my surprise, it was actually folded really nice and neat! She was so proud of it, she ran to get her toy camera and take pictures of her masterpiece.
Then she decided that she wanted to fold it again....
and flatten/smooth it out
She was so proud of her accomplishment!
I'm so proud of my little girl!
Pretty soon Mommy will teach you to do all the laundry by yourself! (So I won't have to do it for you hehe)
